Is work, school, relationships and all things ‘life’ getting in the way of enjoying yourself? Well grab your closest ones, because we have five steps to a perfect weekend away:
A compulsory element to a weekend away is wine. And food. And all things ‘treat yo’self’
To state the obvious, a great weekend starts with great people. These may be your closest guys or gals or your family.
Whether its your mum, sister, best friend, girlfriend, boyfriend or your whole uni class, a weekend away has the potential to bond closer than ever with friends and family and lift our spirits. It is some time away from all those little (or big) inconveniences life provides.
Step 2: (part one)
After you have recruited the perfect crew, figure out what the majority wants. Do you need a seaside stay or a country cottage away from the hustle of city life?
Change it up by staying at an actual home. It provides authenticity, comfort and usually slashes the price of any hotel (win!).
Both the app and website provide reviews, information about location and of course all the ins and outs of where you are staying.
Step 2: (part two)
Don’t worry – we have you covered. These weekends do not have to cost a fortune, have you ever considered a ‘Stay-cation’? Now I know what you are thinking, we can feel your confusion through the computer: ‘A whaaaat?’
A stay-cation is the best way to enjoy yourself, as if you were on holiday without leaving the house at all. Book yourself in for your own bed, endless movies and mojitos and the best delivery food money can buy.
The last compulsory element to a weekend away is wine. And food. And all things ‘treat yo’self’.
This includes a bottle, or three, of your favourite alcohol, going out or ordering in from the best restaurants in town and snacking on all things sugary. This usually includes chocolate and popcorn.
Surprise your weekend away posse with a chocolate bouquet to kick things off. Order one from Tastebuds to cater for your travel buds with cookies, chocolates or alcohol. The perfect treat that satisfies everyone!
Wherever you plan to go for a weekend away make sure you research the activities or scenic views they provide so you are prepared to get the most out of it.
If your style is staying in all weekend then feel free to skip this step. But if you are more of the adventurous type then look up the nearby beaches, sights, spas or activities.
It is surprising how fast a weekend can fly by so be prepared!
